IRISH SPORT HORSE STARS
Irish Sport Horses have performed well at top level all over the world. They regularly appear among the stars of international competitions.
For example,"Flexible" - a son, like several of our own horses, of the great "Cruising" - has held the number one slot among show jumpers in the United States for several consecutive months since the start of 2010.
"McKinlaigh", another Irish Sport Horse ridden by a top American rider, was individual silver medalist at the Beijing Olympics in 2008. A fabulous dressage performance played its part in his success.
From the other side of the world, a top Australian rider represented Australia in Beijing on his Irish Sport Horse "Ben Along Time". His cross country performance was outstanding.
In the UK, both "Parkmore Ed" and "Ballinoola" are Irish Sport Horses, both of them with great results in British four-star three-day events among their credits.
Ridden by a member of Germany's national team, the young horse "Mr Medicott" is a rising Irish star.
One more example: the great "Special Envoy", ridden by the Pessoas, both father and son, was an Irish Sport Horse. He died earlier this year, aged thirty, at the end of an impressive career. "Special Envoy" was the son of "King of Diamonds", one of the greatest stallions in the ISH studbook. Our brood-mare Tara Misty is a grand-daughter of "King of Diamonds".
